Enjoying a young and modern image, Tignes is one of the most trendy resorts in Savoie. Situated in the Vanoise massif, this mountain village is composed of a village center, from which radiate several districts with complementary charms (Tignes Val Claret, Tignes Le Lac, Tignes Lavachet, Tignes Les Boisses and Tignes Les Brévières) Detached hamlets and farms.

This persistence of a dynamic tourist center and rural areas essentially turned towards agriculture allows Tignes to preserve its authenticity while developing an economic activity of future. Since the 1930s, tourism has been very developed in this part of the Alps. Tignes is renowned for its skiing area, Tignes-Val d'Isère, which has won numerous international sports competitions. More than 300 km of slopes adapted to all levels, from beginners to advanced skiers, cross the mountain and are equipped with nearly 80 ski lifts.

If the biggest athletes train in Tignes, it is also a place of rendezvous for the addict to the sensations. Piloting on ice, ULM, snowkiting, ice diving, paragliding, heliskiing, ice cascade, speedriding, snakegliss... : imagination has no bounds and professionals are present to welcome you and make you discover these disciplines safely. Do not hesitate to ask for advice from the Tignes Guides' Bureau to know the best unmarked routes or to be framed in a first off-road experience.

In summer, the lake of Tignes is fed by the waters coming directly from the Grande Motte glacier. You can practice canoeing, stand-up paddle, trout fishing, scuba diving (in the family or in solo) (high-mountain underwater fauna and flora is a magical discovery) Or simply lazing around. There is like a beach atmosphere hovering in this corner of mountain of the proportions nevertheless vertiginous. Tignes is located at the beginning of the Tarentaise valley bordered by the massifs of Mont Blanc, Beaufortain, Lauzière and Vanoise. The Grande Motte glacier rises to 3656 m. Just that !

What distinguishes Tignes from other Savoie resorts is its nightlife ! Several clubs open until the early morning welcome the revelers to the four corners of the resort. Let yourself be seduced by their themed evenings and their cosmopolitan atmosphere. Festive high-mountain atmosphere guaranteed !

Tignes is finally the rendezvous of gourmands. Restaurants on every street corner make you discover the gastronomy of Savoie and elsewhere. Special mention for Oh la Vache, a very typical address located in the heart of the village resort of Val Claret. It is the ideal place to savor the flavors of Savoie, from traditional dishes to homemade burgers. And all this in a very convivial atmosphere. What better after a good day of sports ?
