Between Hyères and Toulon, on the Mediterranean coast, Carqueiranne is one of those small seaside villages that offers all the most pleasant things in the heart of the Var. Sun, sea, hiking, that's what awaits you if it's on Carqueiranne that you set your heart on a dream holiday.

To start your visit to Carqueiranne, there is nothing better than a short trip to the heart of the village: on the religious heritage side, the town has a church, the Sainte-Madeleine church, as well as many oratories spread throughout the city's various districts. But the inventory of things to see does not stop there since Carqueiranne boasts very beautiful monuments, well preserved, which you will absolutely have to visit. Château Richet is to be seen: with its recognizable neomedieval style, it proudly boasts beautiful and tall towers topped by large battlements. With its Renaissance accents, its elaborate greenhouses and its park planted with vines, it is one of the most amazing castles in the area. The Fort de la Bayarde is one of the emblems of the municipality. Facing the sea, this 1890 battery, coiled in the heart of the pines, is the perfect place to contemplate the sea. The military building has since been bought and transformed: with its large outdoor stage, it hosts open-air theatre performances in the summer, particularly during the "Festival Théâtre in Situ La Bayarde" (first half of August). Carqueiranne has 4 other batteries and forts built during the 18th century on the crest line of the Colle Noire massif, sites that once defended the Grande Rade de Toulon. We advise you to visit it at sunrise or sunset, to enjoy the ambient calm and breathtaking views over the open sea. The open sea has brought Carqueiranne one of its most beautiful treasures: The Moon. Famous three-masted ship belonging to Louis XIV, its wreck was discovered off Carqueiranne in May 1993: the latter is rich in an exciting history that will plunge young and old into the heart of the Sun King's time. Yes, will dive, because the only way to discover this famous three-masted mast is to put on masks and snorkels to dive into the waters of Carqueiranne. The resort's seabed is breathtakingly beautiful: along the wild coast, marine life is abundant and you can observe many species of fish.

Carqueiranne is also the perfect place for a little hiking, whether you are a Sunday sportsman or an experienced walker. A coastal path is particularly recommended: along the entire coast to the west of the city, this itinerary will allow you to reach the magnificent bay of Toulon in a few minutes, during a fragrant walk scented with lavender, tulips, thyme, rosemary and wild myrtle essences. To the east, you can discover the Giens peninsula, the port of Niel and the legendary port of La Madrague, against the backdrop of the Golden Islands of Ile du Levant, Porquerolles and Port Cros. Le Massif du Paradis and Pointe du Baou Rouge are also particularly popular for hiking, cycling and horseback riding.

Finally, Carqueiranne will dazzle you with the splendour of its beaches: spread over more than 7 kilometres, alternating coves of fine sand and family beaches, they are very popular with visitors. The naturist beach of Le Bau Rouges is really beautiful thanks to its wild setting, although it is difficult to access. The beach of Le Coupereau is appreciated by divers, when families will put their parasol down more on the beach of Le Pradon. For water sports activities, head for Peno beach (kayaking, canoeing, surfing, boating, sailing, sea fishing, sea rowing), and to bubble under the sun in complete tranquility, opt instead for the splendid beach of Beau-Rivage or the beach of Pins Penchés.
