After these visits, walk through the heart of the city to discover its beautiful squares, its parks (Parc Chabran and Parc Haussmann), its streets decorated with century-old plane trees and its residences with beautifully sculpted doors and porches. Covered with a magnificent 17th century bell tower, the Clock Tower is Draguignan's most emblematic monument: built during the 17th century after King Louis XIV granted amnesty to the town, this tower is the symbol of the city's power. From the top of its 24 meters, the panorama on the rooftops of Draguignan is really magnificent. The religious heritage is very present in the streets of this city of Provence: you can cross the road of the Saint-Hermentaire chapel, the Saint-Michel church, the magnificent chapel of the Convent of Observance or the Saint-Sauveur chapel. Alternately powder magazine, headquarters of the brotherhood and cell, the Saint-Sauveur chapel really deserves a visit: built during the 12th century at the foot of the Tour de l'Horloge in a typically Provençal Romanesque style, this church now hosts exhibitions of contemporary art during the summer period. If there is a historical treasure not to be missed during your visit to Draguignan, it is the dolmen of "La Pierre de la fée": located on the road to Montferrat, this dolmen, a true colossus of stone, is one of the most impressive in Provence: 2.40 metres high and weighing over 60 tonnes, this tomb surrounded by legends attests to the life in Draguignan 2500 years ago BC.
Rich in magnificent panoramas on fertile plains where vineyards, lavender, rosemary, thyme and olives flourish perfectly, Draguignan irresistibly invites you to get away from it all. The 32-kilometre-long Naturby River is an ideal place to stroll and discover the natural treasures that flood Draguignan and its surroundings: along the banks of this river, between Granégone and Clappe, you will discover many villages in the Dracénie region, but also beautiful waterfalls, especially on the Trans-en-Provence side. Whether you are a hiking, horseback riding or cycling enthusiast, there are many itineraries through the Draguignan region! The "Heritage Trail", the "Malmont Roof Trail" (5 kilometres), the "Arbousiers Trail", the "Botanical Trail" or the "Cedars Trail" are essential routes to discover some of the most beautiful Dracenois panoramas. By mountain bike, we recommend taking the "Vigne à vélo" itinerary, without forgetting the Euro Vélo 8, also called "Vélo Route de la Méditerranée", a route that runs nearly 30 kilometres through Dracénie between Flayosc and Sillans la Cascade.
