Lovers of nature, history and outdoor activities? Welcome to Régusse! A small town in the Var, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region, Régusse is located right next to the Sainte-Croix lake. Rich of a very old history, Régusse reveals to its visitors a splendid heritage, marked and recognizable by its old stones. The Romans first settled here, on this hill perched at an altitude of 541 metres, then it was the turn of the Templars to settle here before building an imposing castle during the 12th century. Take the time to stroll through the historic heart of Régusse: go through the Oriental Gate of the Templar Castle located at the corner of Place de l'Horloge and Rue des Castellane, then through Place Féodale, Rue Sombre, the former convent, and the church of Saint-Laurent to finally cross the North Gate of the Templar Castle. You will then discover the Tower of the Grimaldi Castle, the large arcades that adorn the courtyards, vestiges of the gates of the former stables of the castle, but also a large square tower, the castles of Castellane and Albert built around the Revolution along the Rue des Remparts, to finally discover the remains of the old ramparts that surround the Templar Castle by the Rue des Castellane. Régusse is also known for its numerous windmills: built in the 16th and 17th centuries, these mills, of which there are now two in the commune, are emblematic of the Provençal landscape like those that can also be found in Grimaud (Saint-Roch) or Fontvieille (Daudet's mill).

Dynamic, Régusse has a whole bunch of perfect walking trails to allow you to discover the most beautiful faces, on foot, by mountain bike or even on horseback. You will be able to stroll in its 14-hectare wooded park, in the woods of Saint-Jean and Pelenc, but also attend a whole host of exhibitions, concerts in the summer, fairs, and even the kite festival. But it is impossible to stay in Régusse without making a detour (o-bli-ga-toire!) by the lake of Sainte-Croix: spread over more than 2200 hectares, this artificial lake fed by the waters of the Verdon is the largest lake in the area. Dazzlingly beautiful thanks to the emerald colour of its water, it is bordered by numerous beaches particularly conducive to relaxing breaks. You will be able to swim, pedal boat, sail, catamaran, canoe and even fish. Finally, the waters of the Verdon river will satisfy the amateurs of sensations who will be able to go rafting, hydrospeed, white water swimming, tubing, inflatable canoeing, floating, canyoning, canoeing or kayaking, for a perfect discovery of the surroundings of Régusse by force of arms!
