Nestled on the hillside, the perched village of Fayence will captivate the hearts of lovers of typical landscapes of Provence. Between land and sea, facing the Esterel massif, this Var commune has a varied architectural heritage that will certainly delight lovers of old stones and green landscapes. One hour from the first ski resorts and less than 30 minutes from the beautiful fine sandy beaches, Fayence can be visited at any time of the year.

Dominated by its Clock Tower from which the panoramas are breathtaking, Fayence is one of those towns in Provence that have retained all their charm of yesteryear. Its shady squares, southern climate, winding alleys, shops and old buildings give it a picturesque atmosphere marked by the beauty of its medieval past. For a long time "Royal City", Fayence is better known for its earthenware factory, and retains many testimonies of its history : the Saracen Gate of the fourteenth century, is one of the remains of the ramparts of Fayence. The Saint-Jean-Baptiste church and the Romanesque chapel of Notre Dame des Cyprès (superbly surrounded by cypress trees) are also among the buildings to visit during your visit to Fayence. To complete the picture, the commune also houses 13 fountains, scattered throughout the village : thus, during your peregrinations, you will surely cross the path of the Gabriel-Péri fountain, the fountain of the Place de la République, that of the Paty or that of the Rue-Grande du Château.

Famous for its international gliding centre, Fayence hosts numerous air competitions every year. Fans of strong or simple curious sensations, you will be able during your stay to try the experience of a glider flight above Fayence and the perched villages, but also above the Mediterranean coast (Cannes, Antibes, Fréjus, Toulon, Saint-Raphaël...) and snowy massifs, according to the seasons. In winter, ski enthusiasts will head to nearby ski resorts, such as Audibergue and La Moulière, less than 50 minutes from Fayence. On the beach side, lovers of the big blue will be delighted to learn that Fayence is only 30 minutes from the Mediterranean coast. The beaches of Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Théoule-sur-Mer, Cannes-la-Bocca or Saint-Raphaël are perfect for relaxing breaks, water sports and sea outings.

Hiking enthusiasts : you are in the right place ! From Fayence and through the neighbouring communes, nearly 200 kilometres of signposted routes will offer you the opportunity to discover all the beauty of the Pays de Fayence and the perched villages hidden in the hills and the Esterel massif. 15 kilometres from Fayence, Lake Saint Cassien is a perfect leisure and water sports area for the whole family. A refreshing oasis adored by the inhabitants of the Var hinterland, this lake is the ideal place not only for sunbathing, but also for carp fishing, swimming, rowing, windsurfing, pedal boating and kayaking.

Finally, how can we talk about Fayence without mentioning its gastronomy ? On its sun-drenched grounds grow a good number of varieties of fruit and vegetables generously scented. Its fruity rosés and colourful red wines accompany goat cheese, olives, honey, chard, stuffed petits, local lamb, ratatouille, tapenade, aïoli and sweet fougasse, a Provencal speciality perfumed with orange blossom, one of Provence's traditional Christmas desserts.
