Considered one of the most beautiful villages in France, Ménerbes is the perfect holiday destination. Surrounded by the magnificent landscapes of the Luberon, this architectural jewel dominates valleys, garrigues and green vineyards from its hill, a superb playground for lovers of outdoor walks. When visiting Ménerbes, it is easy to imagine why many artists, such as Nicolas de Stael or Pablo Picasso, have one day been inspired by the charms of this luminous and bewitching Provençal city. During your stay, let yourself go for long walks in the heart of the village to discover the rich heritage of this extraordinary city. Inhabited since prehistoric times, Ménerbes has had some witnesses of these ancient times on its lands, such as the dolmen of the Pichouno, a Roman cemetery and some ruins of century-old villas. Along its cobbled streets, where it is pleasant to walk on hot summer days, you will discover the 12th century citadel, the remains of the ramparts, the fortified gates, the splendid abbey of Saint-Hilaire, the old castle known as "Le Castelet", the Saint-Blaise chapel (14th century), but also the medieval and Renaissance historical residences, or the 12th century bell tower that watches over the whole village (Tour de l'Horloge). The Citadel, the old prison, the magnificent Hotel de Tingry (18th century), the House of Dora Maar (painter, photographer and companion of Pablo Picasso), the picturesque Chapel of Notre-Dame des Graces, La Cure, the Hotel de Carméjane and the many belvederes that Ménerbes offers over Provence complete your list of visits.

Wet by the waters of the Calavon, whose valley it dominates, Ménerbes is also the ideal place for hiking. Also, during your holidays, you will be able to discover the Luberon with the help of a wide range of networks and other walking trails through the vineyards, cliffs, pastures and surrounding forests. If there is one to see, it is the magnificent Cedar Forest: located in Bonnieux, the neighbouring town of Ménerbes, this forest planted with giants straight from the Middle Atlas offers its visitors superb walks with the freshness of its trees, from the top of its 700 meters of altitude. 10 kilometres long, it has several hiking trails, but also trails for mountain bikes and horses to discover the typical species of the Luberon at your own pace and according to your desires.

A paradise of epicureanism, Ménerbes is a gourmet destination where eating is a real way of life. The Hotel d'Astier de Montfaucon (17th century), which today houses the Maison de la Truffe et du Vin du Luberon, is the perfect place to take a break from the flavours of regional delicacies. In addition to being one of the pillars of truffle growing, the city organizes an annual market for Bread, Wine and Goat Cheese, which attracts many curious people envious of local gastronomy to the Place de l'Horloge.
