It is in the heart of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park that the town of Le Ménil is located. In the heart of an ancient glacial valley, between the valleys of the Moselotte and the Moselle, Le Ménil is one of those places where you immediately feel at home. With a population of just over 1,200, this charming town has an elegant village where it is good to walk around, at an altitude of 528 metres. Culminating at 1108 meters high, this town is above all a landmark for nature lovers, surrounded by many snow-capped peaks such as La Rouauche, the Tête des Champs or the Col du Ménil well known to hikers. From its 1108 meters of altitude, the Haut du Rouge-Gazon also nicknamed the "Tête des Buttes" marks the border with the neighboring village of Ventron. It is also the highest point of the village's main asset: the ski resort of Ventron. Nestled in the heart of the Vosges Massif, this family resort with 9 slopes has an alpine ski area perfect for both skiing and snowboarding, as well as a snowpark, fun areas, and a Nordic ski area particularly appreciated by sportsmen thanks to its three slopes (La Futaie of 7.5 kilometres, La Ronde Bruche of 4 kilometres, and Les Buttes of one kilometre). Its little plus? This splendid area is linked to that of Bussang via La Futaie. To the east of Le Ménil, behind the Col de Rochelotte, the Bussang-Larcenaire ski area has 8 ski runs for all tastes (3 green, 3 blue, one red and one black). Here, sharing and conviviality are the order of the day in the heart of an environment conducive to family sports and escape. The "Piou Piou" club, slopes protected from the wind, slalom stadium, ski jumping jumps and other ski lifts will be perfect to meet the needs of the whole family.

In addition to its immediate proximity to two ski resorts, Le Ménil is appreciated by sportsmen and families for the authenticity and uniqueness of its landscapes. To allow you to discover all the beauty of the area, the commune has a vast network of marked trails for walkers, mountain bikers and snowshoe enthusiasts in the winter season. Hikes with a view of the Pitié chapel overlooking the village, or its observation table which offers incomparable views of the Ballon d'Alsace, the Ventron slopes and the Ballon de Servance. If go-kart enthusiasts can opt for a few races, climbing fans can enjoy a climbing wall next to the Roche de Beaudevé, perfect for novices to try the ascent of some rather quiet routes with beautiful views over the Valley of Granges. Note that in the area, you will find many hiking sites for all levels of walking, towards the Cascade du Cuisinier, the Gorges de Crosery, the Barrage and the Lac de Kruth-Wildenstein: surrounded by a dense forest, this lake located only 25 kilometers from Le Ménil is the perfect place for swimming, canoeing, fishing, tree climbing, pedal boats or scuba diving and climbing.
