80 km north of Alicante, on the Costa Blanca, Benitachell is an ideal destination for a relaxing and sunny holiday. Little known, this pretty resort has many assets : a wild and sumptuous seaside, a charming typically Mediterranean village, a tasty gastronomy...

Famous for its climate and its splendid beaches, the Costa Blanca offers, in its northern part, a fabulous spectacle where high cliffs and enchanting coves follow one another. In Benitachell, this natural setting is particularly impressive. To enjoy it, go to Cala del Moraig, a beautiful pebble beach surrounded by rock formations. A little more difficult to access, the Cala dels Testos is just as charming. Perfect for resting and bathing in crystal clear waters, these coves will also delight diving enthusiasts who can take several routes proposed by the Tourist Office. These will allow you to admire the seabed covered with posidonia but also numerous caves and caverns.

After having enjoyed the wild coast, join the village of Benitachell. Located inland, 1.5 km from the sea, this pretty village will seduce you by its hilly environment and its small streets full of charm. During your walks, discover the church Sainte Marie Madeleine which, behind a somewhat austere facade, has a beautiful interior of baroque style. Then visit the Jaime Llobel oratory and its small 19th century chapel and admire the Portalet, the last existing entrance door to the old fortified enclosure. At the edge of the village, also see the Pous de l'Abiar, a natural well that supplied the village with water until the 1970s.

The Benitachell coast is not only a fabulous place to taste the joys of the sea but also to indulge in hiking. Several marked out circuits will thus allow you to discover fabulous landscapes and surprising geological formations. By taking the Falla del Moraig road, you can admire the Basenilla, a magnificent example of the collapse of the doline, the Falla des Moraig, a spectacular rock wall facing the sea, and the Riu Blanc lagoon, a group of caves stretching over 2 kilometres. In the evening, take advantage of the mild climate to taste the famous local specialities on the terrace : Puchero Dominical, fresh fish, turrón, grapes, wines...
