Need a holiday on a dream island? Heading for the Canaries, and more precisely for the island of Tenerife. Ideally located to the north of the latter, the municipality of Tacoronte seems to be the perfect place to stay under the sun.

From the lush forests of the Cordillera dorsal to the serrated coast of its coastline, Tacoronte is certainly one of the most exotic cities on the island of Tenerife. Well known for its wine-growing qualities, Tacoronte boasts beautiful fertile expanses suitable for the production of local fruit and vegetables, as well as numerous vineyards spread out over an altitude of 800 metres. Both elegant and picturesque, this municipality is very popular with hikers who like to get lost in its green spaces, such as the Agua Garcia forest in particular. A real green lung and the largest source of vegetation on the island, classified and protected since 1994, it is a small paradise of fresh air, perfect for hiking. You will find a multitude of hiking trails of varying length and steepness, perfect for all levels of walking.

The city of Tacoronte itself has some beautiful architectural highlights not to be missed during your stay there. Take a stroll through its historic city centre and discover the sanctuary of the Santisimo Cristo de los Dolores (17th century), the wheat market, the San Jeronimo hermitage, the Casona hermitage, the Caridad hermitage and the former San Agustin convent, which now houses the House of Culture. Not far away, the church of Santa Catalina (16th century) is considered one of the most important in the entire Canary Islands; after visiting it, continue your journey through the narrow streets of Tacoronte, marked by the traditional architecture of Tenerife. From the calla de La Herreria to the calla de Los Perales, passing by the Calle Ismael Dominguez... you will have a beautiful overview of what makes this village so charming. But if there is one place to visit, it is undoubtedly Hamilton Gardens Park. With its wide variety of Canary Island plants, it is one of the most beautiful gardens on the island. Shaded and fragrant, this unique place is the ideal place to stroll in search of a little freshness, especially during the hot summer months.

Its coastline bordered by steep and rugged high cliffs is a permanent invitation to escape. There are also many hiking routes through Tacoronte and its surroundings, via steep landscapes at the end of the world: the GR 131, the PR-TF 25 and the PR-TF 25.6 are particularly recommended. For breathtaking views of Tacoronte and its magnificent coastline, we recommend a few lookouts: the viewpoint of Carretera El Pris, that of Carretera de Mesa Del Mar, or the panorama from Carretera La Esperanza.

Finally, on the sea side, the resort boasts some of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Two swimming areas are popular: the first, Mesa Del Mar, is well known for its black sand and La Arena beach. Many families come to settle here to enjoy its magnificent panoramas and tranquility. The fishing district of El Pris is more attractive to water sports enthusiasts thanks to a wide range of activities offered throughout the year. If diving is a great success, water skiing, kitesurfing, sailing and surfing are not to be outdone, seducing new holidaymakers every year who are curious to taste the joys of sliding.
