Just north of Lake Saint-Cassien, Le Tignet is a small village in the Alpes-Maritimes. On the border with the Var, this Provençal village is ideally situated, just 10 kilometres from Grasse and 20 kilometres from Cannes and its famous Croisette.

Perched on the magnificent balconies of the Côte d'Azur, the Provencal village of Le Tignet spreads between 30 and 600 metres above sea level, overlooking the Siagne River which separates it from the Var. If the village is not renowned for its particularly ancient heritage, it nevertheless has a certain cachet that you will discover as you wander through its alleys that go up, up, up... To tirelessly lead the visitor to its heights. Here, life has revolved around the old parish church of Saint-Hilaire, on an old square that offers visitors incomparable views of the Lake of Saint-Cassien below, Grasse, the mountains of the Tanneron massif, not forgetting the plain of Cannes, the Mediterranean and the Lérins islands in the distance. Le Tignet is a perfect postcard of the region thanks to its houses with their remarkable typical architecture. It also boasts a good number of very comfortable villas and other chic pavilions which give it a certain elegance. Its former 12th century fortified castle (now in ruins) is worth seeing, as are the Grotto on the Chemin du Castellaras, and the Villa Le Pas de Pique on the Chemin de la Voie Romaine.

Note also that in Tignet, there are many hikes to discover the beauty of Provencal nature on the hillside, with fragrant cypresses, olive trees and aromatic plants that dot the valleys. Also along the Siagne river, on foot, by bike or on horseback, you will find itineraries suitable for the whole family, whether you are a seasoned walker or a Sunday hiker. If Le Tignet is ideal for a relaxing holiday, it is equally suitable for a more sporty stay. In addition to horse riding and hiking, mountain biking, climbing, via ferrata, paragliding and other accrobranche routes for the whole family will be on the programme. Our advice: head towards the west of the village to discover the Pont des Tuves in the commune of Montauroux, a magnificent site where a very old bridge overlooks the turquoise waters of the Siagne, perfect for hiking as well as for swimming and photography. A must to do? Go to the lake of Saint-Cassien, located near the town of Le Tignet. Thanks to its pretty beaches, you can perfect your tan, opt for sand castle competitions, but also swim, rent a pedal boat for a ride on the lake, go canoeing, paddle, kayaking, or even take the time to take a boat trip to discover the contours of the lake. The lake is also surrounded by numerous hiking trails, especially along its shores, which offer beautiful walks in the shade of the pine trees.

Finally, it is impossible to stay at Le Tignet without taking a trip to Grasse to discover its marvellous fields of flowers and its splendid architecture, but also Saint-Vallier-de-Thier and its Baume Obscure Cave, or to let yourself be tempted by a little "splash" of salvation in the warm waters of the Mediterranean from the beaches of Cannes or the Gulf of Napoule.
