Can you see it, that azure blue that tints the panorama off the coast? And you smell it, that perfume of Provence, with the sun on your skin, the cicadas singing and the palpable promise of a perfect holiday not far from the sea? Then welcome to La Colle-sur-Loup!

La Colle-sur-Loup is a small village in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. An abundant, preserved nature, made of fragrant olive trees, pines and oaks in the reassuring shade, and lemon trees and other flowers with fragrances that evoke holidays. A climatic and tourist resort located about ten minutes from Nice and less than an hour's drive from the ski resorts of Andon and Gréolières, it benefits from a particularly mild climate which attracts visitors in winter and summer alike, looking for a break in the peace and quiet of its walls. And it is not for nothing that illustrious artists have one day put down their suitcases in the heart of "La Colle" as it is called here: Brigitte Bardot, Bourvil, Miro, Marcel Pagnol, Jacques Prévent, Luis Mariano, Michèle Mercier and Gary Cooper all fell in love with this charming village. Known worldwide for his blue monochromes, the painter Yves Klein also lived in La Colle and is buried in the village cemetery next to his mother. A place of escape adored by artists and holidaymakers in search of calm and authenticity, this perched village unfolds a maze of picturesque streets dotted with antique shops, traders and local craftsmen who will not fail to make you discover the specialties of the region. Among these, and not the least, perfume! Adorned with the title of "Rose Capital", La Colle developed during the 19th and 20th centuries thanks to the cultivation of perfume flowers such as the rose of course, but also jasmine and orange blossom. Covered with vineyards, fig trees, fruit trees and fragrant plantations, La Colle-sur-Loup is a true wonder for the senses, but also for the eyes thanks to a marked architectural heritage.

But what to see? Get your trainers ready, because the list is long! To begin with, take a tour of the chapels and churches: the Saint-Jacques church at the entrance to the village, the Rosary chapel, the Saint-Roch, Saint-Donat and Notre-Dame-de-la-Consolation chapels will give you a good overview of the village's religious heritage. Along the wells and fountains, you will also discover the Château de Montfort built in 1523 by René de Savoie, the uncle of François I, the former 18th century prison, the former Hôtel Dieu in the rue de la Victoire, or the Château du Canadel. Built overlooking the Escours basin, it is one of the oldest and most striking in the village: machicolations, an old porte cochère, a splendid cloister and a chapel make it a must-see in the village.

La Colle-sur-Loup is also a small paradise of nature. Along the river Loup which outlines the village, you can walk or cycle, with your family or with your partner, during the day or at sunset, and enjoy the magnificent panoramic views to the sound of the river's melodious lapping, home to purple herons and kingfishers. After a hike, a mountain bike ride or a canoeing session on the Loup, head for the beaches of Cagnes-sur-Mer! What's on the agenda?
