Small village of the Drôme Provençale, Tulette is one of those lost paradises of which only Provence seems to jealously guard the secret. Close to Orange, not far from Suze-la-Rousse and Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, this sunny town is full of invitations to make you spend incredible holidays, far from the crowds.

Situated on the very first green hills of the French Pre-Alps, Tulette is a true concentrate of all that is best in Provence. Fief of the Prince of Orange who baptized it "Tu elleta" ("You the chosen one" in old Roman), Tulette sees its origins going back far, very far, as attested by the presence of vestiges found on its land dating back to Prehistory. A wine-growing town above all, the commune developed during the High Middle Ages, as shown by the magnificent residences that dot its streets. Here, red tiles and old stones are legion, and stand side by side in a harmony of warm colours with the wooded squares, on which beautiful fountains are enthroned. Rich in a wonderful historical and architectural heritage, Tulette has preserved over the centuries its splendid medieval ramparts, built between 1360 and 1392, and dotted with two round towers. You will be able to discover its old parapet walk on the Place du Cours, but also a large number of comfortable residences, particularly in the old historic centre of the village. You will therefore discover the absolutely magnificent Renaissance facades, dating from the 16th century, especially in the town hall district: recognizable by their large Gothic-style bays, but also by their turrets and their special staircases, they give the town a unique charm. Climb also on the heights of the town to visit the church of Saint-Pierre, a vestige of what was once the priory of the monks of Cluny, recognizable by its 15th century arches, its circular tower and its stairs. The remains of the Saint-Léger chapel, that of Notre-Dame-du-Roure and the Gallo-Roman remains will complete your visit to the village on the heritage side.

After visiting the Museum of Figurines, take time to stroll along the hiking trails that cross the village. Through the massifs planted with fragrant broom and magnificent roses, or along the vineyards of the Route des Côtes du Rhône, you will discover on foot or by bike all the beauty of the landscapes of the Drôme Provençale. Don't hesitate to push your visit in the direction of the neighbouring villages of Visan (5 kilometres away), Suze-la-Rousse which is worth a visit for its imposing castle (8 kilometres away), or Valréas. So many discoveries that will surely make you want to come back to Tulette!
