It is in the department of Finistère, a few steps from Morbihan, that the town of Bannalec is located. Between Concarneau and Quimperlé, just north of Pont-Aven, this Breton town is the ideal place to put down your bags for a change of scenery, between abundant nature and nearby beaches.

Bannalec, in Cornouaille, is one of those pearls that one imagines in a dream when one thinks of Brittany: on the great faults of the Armorican Massif, this granite land boasts an undulating territory, tiered between 21 and 172 metres in altitude, crossed by a large number of streams. Like Brittany, Bannalec is studded with a whole range of ancient churches and chapels, which you can discover all over its territory. What to see? The church of Notre-Dame-de-Folgoët, the chapel of the White Church, the chapel of Saint-Jacques, the squat granite chapel of Saint-Cado built on a trefoil plan, or the chapel of La Véronique (imposing and magnificent!) and the oratory of Trémeur. In addition to a remarkable religious heritage, Bannalec is distinguished by the beauty of its architecture thanks to its mills that are the mill of Lostevir and the mill of Kerchuz, or thanks to its splendid manors. The manor of Coatiréac (1680), that of Kerlagadic, the manors of Livinot (1454), Menec (15th century) and Quilio will complete your visit to the town of Bannalec. Rich of a very old history, Bannalec which formerly sheltered a fortress reveals to its visitors the vestiges of very old times, for the majority dated from the Middle Ages. Fountains, bread ovens, feudal mounds, crosses, calvaries and covered alleys complete the decor of Bannalec. To make sure you don't miss out on any of its heritage, you can walk or cycle along 9 signposted routes, in addition to the itineraries that follow the route of the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela and the Tro Breiz.

If Bannalec's built heritage is worth a visit, it is also its verdant environment that attracts visitors. Take the time to stroll along the rivers Isole and Ster-Goz, and through the countryside for a few quiet moments in the green. Lovers of the sea? Bannalec is only about twenty kilometres from the coast. Also, in less time than it takes to say it, you can easily reach great tourist sites such as Concarneau, the historic city, or Pont-Aven. And as for the beaches, how can we not recommend the wonderful Plage de Tahiti in Névez, located 21 kilometres from Bannalec? Turquoise and crystal clear water, white sand, water sports activities with the Glénan archipelago opposite... No need to say more to make us want to pack our bags! What about you?
