In the department of Haute-Corse, on the side of the trap of Orezza, Carcheto-Brustico spreads out between 436 and 1697 meters of altitude, and its borough blooms at 630 meters of height. Rural village, fusion of two ancient communes that are Carcheto and Brustico, it has a charming heritage, emblematic of these small villages of Corsica that we like so much. Also, do not miss to discover the church of Saint Joseph, but also the chapels of Saint Roch and San Bastianu. Land of water, Carcheto-Brustico is studded with a whole bunch of superb fountains, such as the Onda fountain, the Gradi fountain or the San Martinu fountain. As for the built heritage, the ruins of the San Marcello chapel and the old marble quarry of Vert d'Orezza will complete your discovery. But if there is a religious site that we recommend you visit, it is the baroque church of Sainte-Marguerite. Built during the 16th century by local artists, this splendid church with its lacy façade has the particularity of displaying magnificent paintings, original paintings that have never been restored since the church was built.

But what irresistibly attracts visitors to Carcheto-Brustico is its waterfall. Wonderful and adored by hikers who come in great numbers every year, the Cascata della Struccia looks like a paradise on earth. Located on the D11, halfway between the town of Piedicroce and the Arcarota pass, this renowned waterfall is set in a breathtaking natural setting. After a few minutes walk in the heart of a thick chestnut forest, you can discover this 12 meter high waterfall at the foot of which a magnificent natural pool invites you to take a refreshing dip. And if you're looking for sunbathing and swimming, the nearest beaches are located 45 minutes away in Talasani! Scuba diving, sea kayaking, paddle boarding, seaside biking and waterfront dining will be the icing on the cake of this stay on the Beauty Island.
