In the department of Haute-Corse, in the heart of a fertile and sun-drenched territory, Oletta has everything of the small emblematic village of the Isle of Beauty. Adjacent to Saint-Florent, Oletta enjoys a privileged location for sports and cultural holidays by the sea.

Wedged between Saint-Florent and its eponymous gulf on one side, and the beaches of the bay of Bastia on the other, Oletta sees its origins going back far, far back in time, to prehistory, as evidenced by the presence of a cave on its territory, that of Missoivet, and the very ancient remains on the side of Campo-Console. Authentic, made of old houses with stone facades that overlook the Gulf of Saint-Florent, Oletta has a marked and rather opulent heritage, the result of many years of mining. To discover all its secrets, take the time to stroll along its beautiful stones. The church of Saint Andrew (Sant'Andria), a listed building, is well worth a visit: built in the 18th century, it impresses with its splendid baroque architecture and beautiful decorations (including two listed works and magnificent organs). But the town's religious heritage does not stop there: in the area around Oletta there are many chapels that you can visit, such as the San Griolone Chapel, famous for its ancient remains. The ruins of the former convent of St. Francis, but also the remains of the old church, now converted into a dwelling, will complete your visit.

Known to have been home to many painters during the 20th century, including Maurice Utrillo, Oletta is an inspiring, captivating destination, adored by visitors for its picturesque side, certainly, but also for its panoramas. From its promontory, how beautiful are its views of the Gulf of Saint-Florent below, and how beautiful are the walks you can take on the lands of Oletta! During your excursions through the village and its waymarked paths, you will discover all the magnificence of the Aliso and Poggio valleys, which conceals many treasures, among which a particularly rich and rare island vegetation.

Finally, lovers of hiking and mountain biking will be able to reach the most beautiful beaches of Saint-Florent in a few minutes. The Roya beach, the Saint-Florent beach, the paradisiacal beaches of Saleccia and Lotu will be perfect for your idleness under the sun. Made up of white sand and bordered by turquoise water, these wonderful beaches have enough to make many jealous!
