Explore Flaine
Summer and winter, the resort of Flaine, located in the heart of a natural cove of Haute-Savoie, welcomes you for a stay of sports and relaxation. Noticed in 1959, the Flaine site was designed in the 60s by Marcel Breuer, a world renowned architect. This peaceful pedestrian resort on five levels houses holidaymakers with plenty of shops and services.
Flaine is first and foremost a major ski resort in the French Alps. It is part of the domain of the Grand Massif, which counts 265 kilometers of tracks. Its geographical position ensures an ideal snowfall and also promises visitors, whether skiers or not, a discovery of incredible landscapes. On the Desert of Platé, accessible by the Telephérique des Grandes Platières, an exceptional panorama is unveiled. Facing Mont Blanc, this limestone plateau of 1980 hectares offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding peaks. Its particular geological formation infallibly fascinates its visitors. Some even say they thought they were walking on the moon !
During the beautiful season, the resort is transformed to offer a wide selection of summer sports. Golf, tennis, paragliding, mountain biking, climbing, canyoning... There is something for every taste and for all ages. The practice of hiking is also common in Flaine. Circuits for all levels lead walkers in places with grandiose landscapes.
Moreover, the resort of Flaine is the ideal place to recharge. To relax after a busy day, nothing better than a good meal. The traditional and warm decor of the restaurant L'Ancolie is a delight for holidaymakers who come to enjoy typical mountain dishes. Its little extra : the raclette is unlimited. The White Pub, on the other hand, is the perfect place to have a drink after a day on the slopes. In a genuine British pub atmosphere, the welcoming and dynamic staff makes you feel at home and offers, for the little hungry, to taste home burgers.
Art enthusiasts will also find their account in Flaine. A park of monumental sculptures is open to all to discover works of great names, including "The Head of Woman" of Picasso and "The Three Hexagons" of Vasarely. The Flaine Art Center regularly offers new exhibitions featuring various contemporary artists.
