In the Northern Alps and more particularly in the Chablais alpine massif, the Chapelle d'Abondance is a family ski resort that offers its visitors a wide choice of activities in both summer and winter. When the mountains are covered with their thick pearly coat, two alpine ski areas (Braitaz and Crêt-Béni) and 5 kilometres of Nordic trails await skiers and snowboarders in the Portes du Soleil ski area, the largest cross-border ski area in the world linking 12 French and Swiss ski resorts for a total of more than 430 kilometres of skiing... Just that ! Embellished with the peaks of the Mont de Grande and the Cornettes de Bise, the resort of the Chapelle d'Abondance has nevertheless managed to preserve all its superb and authenticity, with its gites, its chalets and its wooden hotels dressed. After a visit of the village and its farms where we produce the AOC Abundance, head for the slopes and the many activities around the world of skiing. If there's one thing kids love in the family, it's a dog team ride. You will even be able, whatever your age, to initiate you with the driving of pack : an unforgettable experience ! After an introduction to the joys of skiing, head for the 23 trails that make up the two sectors of the Chapelle d'Abondance. You will also find two boardercross, a toboggan run and 12 ski lifts. On the Crêt Béni side, 16 pistes, 3 red, 9 blue and 4 green, cross a superb fir forest under the summit of the magnificent Mont de Grange. The Braitaz sector and its 800 meters of altitude difference through the fir trees offers seven trails traced between 1200 and 2000 meters of altitude, under the benevolent gaze of Mount Linla culminating at 2093 meters. Nordic ski enthusiasts and cross-country enthusiasts will be able to devote themselves to their favourite activities along the banks of the Dranse River, on the Espace Nordique de la Vallée d'Abondance where 8 pistes groomed between 900 and 1500 metres in altitude will allow you to discover at your own pace all the splendour of the valley and the surrounding villages over more than 35 kilometres. As for snowshoeing, 80 kilometres of marked trails spread throughout the valley will allow you to reach passes and immaculate pastures, and enjoy unique landscapes on the mountains of the Chablais massif and the Dents du Midi. Do not forget your camera, since during your excursions, it will not be rare to cross the road of mouflons, ibexes and chamois who live nestled in this preserved cocoon. In addition to sliding sports, you can also opt for horseback rides, an introduction to biathlon or a paragliding over the domain, as long as you have your stomach well hung and a camera at hand to immortalize the most beautiful panoramas you will have seen during this flight.

During the summer, whether you're a soul walker or a mountain biker, 175 kilometres of marked trails between France and Switzerland await you through the green valleys of the Alps mountains. During your excursions, go along the rivers which draw the resort for refreshing strolls along the brook of Barmettes or that of Bresse. The Cascade de Rouchon is one of the unmissable of your stay, as is the Bise lake (west of the Cormettes de Bise) and the peaceful and magnificent Arvouin lake, an altitude lake perched at 1663 meters in the heart of the mountains. The adventure park "Arbr'acadabra" will delight young and old adventurers who will be able, according to their desires, to make tyrolean, climbing, canyoning in the white waters of the crebin stream and the Nyon canyon, or via ferrata. Tennis games, visits to educational farms, a nap in front of the Mont-Blanc, electric ATV rental and fishing are also to be added to the long list of activities that you can share with family or friends during your stay at the Chapelle d'Abondance.
