Nestled in the massif des Bornes in Haute-Savoie, Grand-Bornand is a village full of Savoy charm. Its cosy chalets attract holidaymakers looking for peace and adventure. At 1300 meters of altitude rises the tourist resort of the village, Grand-Bornand Chinaillon.

Although the village has kept its traditional side, its ski area is very modern and extends very widely over the Bornes massif. Some forty runs over 83 kilometres offer ski lovers a wide and varied playground. There is also a snowpark for snow sports enthusiasts of all kinds. Accessible to all, it contains modules reserved for initiation as well as others for regulars and experts. The whole domain benefits from a very good snow cover throughout the season as well as a favourable sunshine which makes the descents magical. For those who want even more, Grand-Bornand is also part of the Massif des Aravis ski area, which links it to three neighbouring resorts.

If skiing has no more secrets for you, no worries, there are many other activities to discover during the winter ! We start with the toboggan runs where young and old come to enjoy the joys of skiing in complete safety. Unlike skiing, you don't need to take lessons to enjoy these family runs. Discover the valley and its exceptional landscapes while hiking in the high mountains. The experts of the Compagnie des Guides et Accompagnateurs know the valley like the back of their hand and will reveal all its secrets to you with passion. Looking for new sensations ? The Company's guides offer you many other more extreme sports adapted to experienced skiers. Off-piste skiing is obviously one of the great attractions of the domain, but it is not the only one. More recent, heliskiing is gradually gaining notoriety. This practice consists in transporting the skiers by helicopter on completely virgin territories and well away from the resorts, where they will be able to appreciate slopes untouched by the man with the invaluable help of an instructor. In Grand-Bornand, the helicopter takes you to the large Swiss or Italian mountains nearby, allowing you to enjoy incomparable landscapes during the flight.

The advantages of the high mountains do not stop there! If you don't fear the void, try ice climbing. During the winter, some of the domain's waterways freeze, forming a natural park for climbing enthusiasts. We first learn on streams, under the watchful eye of the instructor, then we perfect ourselves on the immense sparkling waterfalls.

Numerous hikes from the village, which is nice on holiday. The creperie in the village is very good value for money (better to book). It is good to have a drink at the pub where the welcome is warm. The jewellery shop is also worth a visit... Do not hesitate to browse the village and its shops...
