Chamonix Mont Blanc... a highly evocative name! Winter sports, snow, party, relaxation, joie de vivre... This popular tourist resort is located in the heart of Haute-Savoie, at the foot of the highest mountain in the Alps. Culminating at 4809 meters above sea level, the Mont Blanc has made Chamonix a mountaineering center. For centuries, sportsmen have come from all over the world climbing its arduous slopes and conquering this mythical summit. To accompany this enthusiasm, the resort has widely developed its tourist offer. Today Chamonix Mont Blanc is also a multitude of other sporting, cultural and entertaining activities in a very cosmopolitan resort where everyone finds its happiness.
In winter, the ski area of Chamonix is a must. The reason why we hurry on these slopes each year is very simple : the possibilities are endless in Chamonix Mont Blanc. You will find an impressive selection of disciplines : downhill skiing, telemark, speedriding, snowboarding, freestyle... It's up to you to choose what suits you best ! And no matter what your abilities, the domain is accessible to all. It is the ideal place to take your first steps on the snow or to improve yourself : skiing pleasure on calm slopes or adrenaline skiing on steeper slopes and on the off-piste area.
During the beautiful season, the sport resumes on the whole domain ! Founded in 1821, the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix offers several ways to discover the many facets of the mountain : mountaineering of course, but also hiking on glaciers, Nordic walking, mountain biking, outdoor climbing... Do not miss Accro Park of the Company. Its five courses in the air promise you a maximum of adrenaline. An itinerary reserved for toddlers allows them to make a first experience with safe mini-sensations.
Chamonix Mont Blanc, it is also many cultural spaces presenting the rich heritage of the valley. Currently housed in the Chamonix Palace, a former luxury hotel inaugurated in 1914, the Alpin Museum was founded at the end of the 18th century. It has nearly 11,000 pieces of collections to be found in numerous permanent and temporary exhibitions. From 2016, the exhibition "Patrimoines du Mont-Blanc" presents the artistic and historical heritage of the mountain and its valley. Amateurs of history, art or simple curious discover the evolution of mountaineering, winter sports and tourism around Chamonix.
The life does not stop after the night fell in Chamonix Mont Blanc ! The city center is full of nightclubs, bars and other places that will warm your nights. Rather nightclubs ? Go to the Bunker Club or the Amnesia for lively parties. Feel like a quiet night with friends ? The jazz club of the Maison des Artistes and its concerts are made for you. Finally, the famous Casino welcomes you on a seventy-ten slot machines and many table games.
