Snowy, elegant, chic, dynamic... Adjectives are numerous when it comes to qualifying Megève and its ski resort. World famous, Megève is nestled in the hollow of three mountain ranges, between Aravis and Mont Blanc, only two hours from Lyon. If the popularity of this authentic village in the French Alps is above all due to its exceptional setting for skiing and snow sports, Megève attracts many holidaymakers each year for its events, its gastronomy, its "après ski", its trendy evenings and its numerous relaxation areas.

In Megève every winter, between 1050 and 2350 metres above sea level, more than 445 kilometres of slopes, each one more beautiful than the next, are available to you. A land of natural contrasts, between open slopes, alpine farms, dense forests, balconies and sunny terraces, the Megève amphitheatre ski area is adored by families who discover the pleasures of skiing on its gentle slopes. As far as freestyle is concerned, the resort has nothing to be ashamed of since it offers its holidaymakers a space totally dedicated to the practice of new sliding sports: accessible to novices and initiates alike, Waidzai Park and its wide range of modules (whoops, hip, giant big air bag, springboards, boardercross, pyramids...) is the ideal place to enjoy freestyle in complete safety. Nordic skiers, cross-country skiers and ski tourers ? The Côte 2000 massif and its large areas of sunny freedom will lend themselves perfectly to authentic skiing in the middle of fir trees and snow-covered alpine pastures. Between powdery plateaus and wide groomed tracks, numerous loops on 40 kilometres of tracks (green to black) will allow you to discover all the beauty of Megève and its surroundings with as a gift at each pass, at each summit, a unique panorama on the Mont Blanc massif. The "Loop of the lake of Javen" is particularly magnificent : during this peaceful walk of 4 kilometres, realizable winter as summer, you will discover superb points of view on the crooked needles and the chain of the Mount Joly. On snowshoes, climb east to the summit of Mont d'Arbois (1833 metres) for its magnificent balcony on Mont Blanc : we assure you that the ascent is really worth it ! The "Chemin du Calvaire", the "Sentier du Planay", and the "Col du Jaillet-Christomet" are also to be added to your "to-do-list" of excursions not to be missed. Many other activities for young and old are also offered in the heart of the resort during the winter : dog sledding, glacier walks at the Col d'Entrèves or on the Mer de Glace, paragliding with the Mont Blanc as a backdrop, sledging... All these activities are sure to please young and old alike.

On the village side, Megève has managed to preserve all the charm of its beautiful Savoyard houses with its chalets and pedestrian streets where it is pleasant to stroll, from art galleries to antique shops via the Magdelain Tower and the Priory Tower. Before packing your bags for Megève, think about leaving a little space... Because with over 200 stores, Megève is a shopping paradise. Once the skis are loose and stowed, head for the Palais des Sports for a relaxing break in the heart of the mountains. For sports relaxation, head for the aquatic area with its Olympic swimming pool, its two pools, its slide and its aquagym pool, or even the fitness area and its weight training centre. For 100% relaxing moments, direction Le Palais : the largest wellness centre in the Alps, you will find a spa, a hammam and saunas.

At nightfall, Megève puts on its clothes of light and becomes a paradise for night owls who crowd its bars, clubs (the Palo Alto in particular), restaurants and casino to extend the party until the end of the night. Popular with starred chefs, Megève is a very famous destination for lovers of French gastronomy. In all, more than 80 establishments, including 3 Michelin starred, have opened their doors in the heart of the resort, to the delight of gourmets, who come in great numbers each year to learn about Megève flavours.

Finally, in summer, a holiday in the mountains is the ideal opportunity for outdoor sports.
