Explore Les Orres
Located in the south-east of the Hautes-Alpes, Les Orres is a charming French town famous for its ski area and its dynamic resorts. It is composed of eight hamlets scattered between 1250 and 2450 meters of altitude. Formerly, its territory contained the wheat reserves of the town of Embrun. Its name would consequently come from the Latin "horreum", which means "granary with wheat".
It was at the beginning of the seventies that its first station was born following the installation of two chair-lifts and a ski-tow. Nowadays known as the Orres 1650, the resort has been enriched with numerous tourist structures since its creation. To name but a few : tennis courts, ski lifts, swimming pool, skating rink and toboggan run are now part of the activities offered to holidaymakers throughout the year. Between 2006 and 2009, a new project is developing a little higher. This is the Orres 1800, a brand new resort dedicated to 100% winter sports.
Skiers looking for tranquility are always charmed by the Domaine des Orres. Its 37 tracks of quality have nothing to envy to those of the big stations. One of them has an international reputation. The track of the Pousterle is indeed homologated international track of descent since 1979. The two stations of the Orres are suitable perfectly to the skiers confirmed and beginners. They will be able to go to the initiation zone to discover the joys of skiing safely. The presence of a snowpark will also delight lovers of gliding.
In summer, Les Orres reopens its doors to lovers of the high mountain. Its stations remain very active during the summer. A wide range of sporting activities is offered to holidaymakers looking for challenges, fun or family fun ! Climbing, mountain biking, tree climbing, horseback riding, paragliding, water skiing... the most difficult will be to choose ! Small and big adventurers, do not miss the Jungle Adventure. This amusement park is the perfect place for family fun, as the many activities offered are accessible to all ages. From Tyrolean to paintball, impossible to get bored at Jungle Adventure park !
If you are staying with your toddlers, know that the resort is labeled "Famille Plus" thanks to the many activities and activities specially adapted for families. Several recreation areas will allow your children to have fun in complete safety. The kindergarten groups together several outdoor games such as slides and swings. At the ice rink, an ice garden allows the little ones to take the first steps on the ice thanks to stabilizers in the form of animals. In summer, the snow front is invaded by enormous inflatable structures. A space is even reserved for the less than four years and all structures are monitored. Finally, when the sun is on the tip of your nose, do not hesitate to go to the municipal swimming pool located near the tennis courts.
