A few kilometers to the northwest, then go to Lorient, famous modern port city. Its maritime history began in 1666 when the Compagnie des Indes moved to the port of Saint-Louis. In addition to becoming a hub of international trade, it also became a military port and developed very rapidly until the Second World War, during which it became the underwater base of the German occupation and was destroyed By the bombing of the Allies.
