About fifteen kilometres from Vannes, in the heart of the Rhuys Peninsula, Surzur is ideally located to allow you to visit the Gulf of Morbihan and also the Bay of Quiberon, two sites which, according to some, are among the most beautiful in Brittany.

Watered by the marshes of the Pernef, Sarzeau and Epinay rivers, Surzur is a destination between land and sea. Located in the Regional Natural Park of the Gulf of Morbihan, it offers an idyllic setting to holidaymakers in search of tranquility and authenticity. During your stay, take the time to visit the town on foot, which has some interesting sites to discover, such as its church and presbytery, its four chapels, its crosses such as the Cross of Brarun, those of Trémoyec, Manéguen, Bégard or Kergo, or its calvaries. Surzur also has a whole range of old manors, from the manor of Pérénès to that of Cohanno, without forgetting the very elegant manor of Pembulzo, that of Guermeur and the manor of Kerguézec. Finally, the Château du Grégo is also worth a visit: hidden in the middle of the woods, this refined building has its origins in the Middle Ages. With its high windows, stones, enclosed orchard and numerous outbuildings, it is one of the most beautiful buildings in Surzur. If you love castles, it is impossible to miss the imposing medieval fortress of Sarzeau: with its high round towers, richly decorated houses and ocean views, this 13th century castle between dunes and marshes is certainly one of the most remarkable in the whole region, not to be missed under any circumstances.

On the hiking side, Surzur is a credit to Brittany by offering its visitors a wide choice of pedestrian, cycling and equestrian networks, according to your wishes. The municipality has several hiking trails such as the "Circuit de Penbulzo" (9.5 kilometres), or the famous GR34 which is no longer on display, which runs along the entire Breton coast from side to side.

As for the Surzur plate, it will delight the taste buds of the whole family. Mainly agricultural, the municipality has a wide choice of local dishes, ranging from fruit and vegetables to charcuterie, cider and even oysters.

Finally, on the sea side, or rather on the ocean side, you will have to go to the beaches of Saint-Armel, Sarzeau, Damgan or Tour-du-Parc to enjoy a swim and a walk with your feet in the sand.
