Explore Super Besse
Located in the Haut-Sancy ski area in Auvergne, the Super Besse ski resort is dynamic, lively and sunny, ideally suited for holidays in the mountains with friends or family. Between 1350 and 1850 meters above sea level, this ski resort has many new snow sports facilities, and nearly 43 kilometers of slopes that will delight the most sporty.
Whether you prefer downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing or snowboarding, you will find your happiness at Super Besse. Far from the very tourist and concreted resorts, Super Besse knew how to keep its charm, typical of the mountain villages with human size. It combines the traditional pleasures of skiing with the most popular sports, such as "freestyle big air bag", border cross, snowscoot (a kind of big bike adapted for riding on snow) and many others. A snowpark and a freepark are available for freestyle enthusiasts, who can enjoy their favourite activities in complete safety on the Super Besse modules. Young and old will love the "Fantasy Luge", a 3 km long piste that starts at the level of the Partridge cable car : this 500 m toboggan descent will allow you to discover the snowy landscapes of Super Besse in a fun and original way. In this "Famille Plus" labelled resort, you will also find numerous infrastructures for children, such as the play area called "l'Enclos de Tibou" : foam modules, sliding games and animations are organised throughout the winter to allow the youngest to discover the joys of snow. In the Madalet sector, they will also have access to two secure sledge stadiums. As for downhill skiing, a night skiing area, 5 green runs, 9 blue runs, 9 red runs, 4 black runs and 21 ski lifts await ski fans. Nestled on the southern slope of the Sancy, Super Besse extends all around the superb Lac des Hermines : it is through immense spaces of freedom that you can practice snowshoeing, an ideal activity for a big bowl of air, which will allow you to admire magnificent natural landscapes. In all, the "Espace Nordique Sancy" is made up of more than 160 kilometres of secure and marked trails spread over 9 sectors. Through the calm spruce forests, on the tracks of wild animals or even from the top of the resort and its 360° panorama over the snow-covered mountains, one thing is certain : you will be amazed. As for cross-country skiing, the domain has 250 kilometres of itineraries, criss-crossing the high plateaus and the mountain pastures of the Massif Central. You will also find at Super Besse many sites where you can do a first paragliding or hot-air balloon flight : solo, in duet or in group, you will fly over the volcanoes and mountains of Auvergne, from Mont-Dore to the Sancy lakes, and will observe panoramas of unforgettable beauty.
Finally, in summer, Super Besse is transformed into an immense playground for sportsmen and nature lovers : adventure course, sliding on the grass, swimming pool, summer toboggan, golf, signposted hiking, water sports, swimming and giant zip line (1600 metres) above Lac des Hermines... Enough to spend yourself while enjoying the benefits of the mountain and its breathtaking natural setting ! It is also a paradise for mountain bikers, with its "Super VTT" area, which offers multiple downhill and cross-country trails, but also a Bike Park and an area for little bikers who can have fun on the modules, bumps and slaloms of the resort.

Super Besse is a family resort where you can take advantage of the animations proposed to children: some of them are free (see at the tourist office). I recommend the dramatised visit of Besse with a lantern: a very convivial moment for all.
