In the Var department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Campus is a real little nugget. Leaning against the foothills of the Verdon, this charming village built in the Xth century blossoms at an altitude of 600 meters overlooking the Mediterranean and the Dracénie. In the heart of an absolutely exceptional environment, this Provencal village is located 15 kilometers from Draguignan, 28 kilometers from the Sainte-Croix Lake and 46 kilometers from Fréjus. Surrounded by gorges, rivers, and wooded hills where it is particularly pleasant to hike, this typical Provencal village has preserved many medieval and Roman vestiges from its past. To discover the richness of this exceptional heritage, take a walk in the narrow streets that wind in the heart of the old town and that will allow you to discover the beauty of the houses organized around the Saint-Michel church. From shaded squares to beautiful traditional gurgling fountains, you will discover the vaulted passages of the 11th century, beautiful porches and will have the impression of walking in a movie set! What to see? The Romanesque chapel of Notre-Dame de Spéluque, classified as a historical monument, is well worth the detour: in a rural setting, it is an unmissable detour in Campus, as much for its decorations as for the walk it offers.

Known for its charm, the town is a little Eden for epicureans and gourmets, who can taste a whole bunch of delicious local products: truffles, olives, sheep, mushrooms, but also goat cheese and lavender honey will not fail to delight the most discerning of taste buds, as well as the giant aioli that can be tasted during the big fair in August!

In order not to miss anything of its charm, Ampus has a walk along the Fontigon canal, and has walking itineraries that will allow you to discover the Gorges de la Nartuby! The Bois des Clappes, but also the itineraries of the "Route de la Truffe" and the "Route des Miels", the Roche Aiguille, the waterfalls on the Nartuby, the Puy de la Sigue, the Col de la Grande and its crazy panoramas on the commune are as many must-sees to be discovered during any stay in Ampus.
