Take a bit of the charm of Provence, a lot of the authenticity of the Luberon, add a touch of history and a good dose of preserved landscapes. Mix it all together, and you get... Robion!

Just at the foot of the Luberon massif, in the Vaucluse department, the small village of Robion spreads between 74 and 650 meters of altitude. The heart of the village, at 140 meters, is in the middle of a particularly generous nature. A true pearl of Provence, the old village, as if lost between Cavaillon and Avignon (25 kilometres away), brilliantly combines the elegance of Provencal architecture and its very special discretion. To discover its secrets, you will have to enter the old centre of Robion, to discover a hamlet as if suspended in time with narrow cobbled streets and pretty residences typical of the region made of stones in warm tones, admirably restored. In the heart of the village, the fountain of La Pompe stands proudly, with a large 12th century Romanesque church as its neighbour. Topped by an apron-shaped bell tower bearing the words "Ave Maria", the 10th century church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité is a must to visit, as is the Chapel of the White Penitents perched at the top of the village. Take the time to let yourself be lulled by the lapping of the fountains which decorate the village while passing under the arcades which cap the streets of Robion, to discover with the liking of your strolls the vestiges of its ramparts of the XIVth century, those of its old castle of the Middle Ages, the street of the Bernardines but also an old lime kiln and a splendid theatre of greenery.

It is from this place that the "Nature Trail" and the "Botanical Trail" start; the latter, particularly recommended for the unconditional lovers of flora, will lead you to the heart of a magnificent village orchard, where you can discover the chapel Notre-Dame des Anges as well as the marvellous panoramas of the Luberon.

Ah, the Luberon! Is there a better place to marvel and hike? In the heart of the cedars, the garrigue, the clearings sprinkled with thyme and rosemary, towards the Rochers de la Baude, the Vallon de la Petite Trappe or that of the Calanque, the Source du Boulon, the Vallon de la Brayette or that of the Barre, there are many hiking routes that you will find in the Robion area. The GR6 and the GR97 will take you in particular to the perched villages of Oppède-le-Vieux and Maubec, without forgetting Ménerbes at 8 kilometres, known to be one of the most beautiful villages in France. The commune of Robion is also crossed by the Véloroute du Calavon, a green route located on the EuroVélo 8 which crosses the Luberon Regional Natural Park via easily accessible routes, perfect for a family ride in the heart of nature, on an old railway line which multiplies the grandiose landscapes to be discovered such as the Pont Julien, Apt and the banks of the Calavon. For perfect holidays that are both sporting and contemplative!
