Louroux-de-Bouble... This name does not tell you anything? And yet, this small town in the Allier is a privileged place for those who dream of a quiet holiday far from the big tourist destinations. Between nature and adventure, peace and quiet and sporting breaks to discover the Allier, Louroux-de-Bouble has many secrets to tell you.

The town of Louroux-de-Bouble is located in the department of Allier, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. On the north-western slope of the Colettes massif, between the Belon valley and the Bouble valley, Louroux-de-Bouble is 45 kilometres east of Montluçon and 60 kilometres west of Vichy. A quiet destination, this commune of the Allier reveals itself through its narrow streets that walkers can stroll at their own pace. Although Louroux-de-Bouble does not have any great and majestic monuments, the village does have a few nuggets not to be missed. Thus, taking the time to wander along the banks of the Bouble, you can not miss the mills that dot the course of the river, including the Mill Boutevin, the Mill Villonne, or the Mill Berthon. In the heart of the village, the 12th century Saint-Laurent church reveals a splendid Romanesque style, beautiful arcades and a massive modern bell tower dating from the 19th century. A curiosity not to be missed: the Viaduct of Belon! Built by the Eiffel company, this 66-metre high viaduct is well worth a visit, as are the Perrière and Bélon viaducts.

By car, on foot or by bike, you can go on an adventure in the neighbouring valleys of Louroux-de-Bouble, and in the surrounding villages. Charroux, classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, but also Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule, Montluçon and Vichy, a spa town known worldwide for its water and its splendid architecture are not to be missed! In addition to these city visits, there are several splendid sites to add to your "to-do list": the Château de la Mothe in Vicq, surrounded by a moat, the Château de Veauce, the Kaolin quarries and the magnificent forest of Colettes d'Echassières are all places that you can easily visit during your stay in the Allier. The Vélorail des Combrailles, ideal for discovering the Auvergne by bike, the Accro-Sioule park, perfect for discovering tree climbing with the family, but also the walking routes along the Sioule and the Bouble rivers which cross the hedged farmland, the wild gorges and the forest massifs, as well as the Rivalais pond where it is good to hike and to fish, will be added to the list of must-sees during your holidays in Louroux-de-Bouble.
