Explore Pralognan la Vanoise
Between Courchevel and Termignon, in the heart of the Alps, Pralognan la Vanoise is a village resort adored by lovers of hiking and sliding sports. At the foot of one of the largest ice caps in the Alps, this authentic, dynamic and charming resort is the ideal destination for family holidays in the calm and fresh air.
A real pearl in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, at the foot of the Grande Casse, the village of Pralognan La Vanoise and its breathtaking high mountain scenery seduces many visitors every year. Far from the concrete resorts and their crowd, Pralognan la Vanoise has kept its simplicity and its authenticity so endearing. Its small hamlets with wooden chalets, its typical lanes, its lauze roofs and its snow-covered alpine pastures will plunge you directly into the warm atmosphere of the resort. Pralognan la Vanoise is a playground adored by skiers, mountaineers, hikers and traileurs. It can be discovered and enjoyed in both winter and summer.
The winter, dominated by dozens of peaks culminating at more than 3000 meters of altitude, Pralognan la Vanoise is covered with a thick white coat which offers to the amateurs of glide excellent conditions to devote themselves to their favorite activities. From the winding tracks of the Fontanettes forest to the bumps of the Bochor plateau, passing through the creux Noir and the combe des Pariettes, a total of 24 pistes and 12 lifts make up the ski area of the resort, perched between 1400 and 2350 metres. With its 1000 meters of altitude difference, in a wild and preserved setting, you can enjoy its thick white gold and its breathtaking landscapes on the glaciers of the Vanoise. As for Nordic skiing, more than 27 kilometres await you for an activity that combines the joy of skiing with the feeling of freedom in the heart of snow-covered mountains. 9 snowshoe trails will delight hikers through the hamlet of Le Plan, the heights of the Darbelays, the Barioz and the Gerlon bridge in particular, for a perfect discovery of the surroundings of the resort. Note also that these itineraries are adapted to families as they are feasible in 1 hour maximum for most. Ski-joering with horses, snowboarding in the "Waouland", cross-country skiing, dog sled rides, paragliding, tobogganing, biathlon... so many activities that will make the whole family happy.
In spring, when the snow leaves place to the sweetness of the green pastures, Pralognan la Vanoise becomes the paradise of the hikers : indeed, the resort conceals surprising paths through the pastures, the passes, the summits, the waterfalls, the lakes and the glaciers which compose the territory of Vanoise. In all, over 250 kilometres of marked trails are available to you! Depending on your level, we recommend the "Sentier découverte du Mont Bochor" green trail (V4), the "Col de la Vanoise" blue trail (B8) with its magnificent panoramas, the Cirque du Génépi red trail (R5) and the "Petit Mont Blanc" trail (R6). Also go to the Lac des Vaches, emblematic site of the valley which, perched at an altitude of 2318 metres, is familiar with the highest peaks. In addition to hiking, you can climb the Aiguille de la Vanoise, Mont Pourri, accrobranche, tyrolienne, climbing or Via Ferrata at the Cascade de la Fraîche. Mountain biking is one of the most popular activities when the weather is fine. In Pralognan la Vanoise, two descent routes are thus accessible by cable car : the red piste des Flottes, more than 4 kilometres long, will lead initiated mountain bikers through the forest when the blue piste des Barmettes will be more dedicated to beginners. Water sports are also at horror during the summer period : how about an introduction to canyoning in mountain streams ? Or to discover the joys of rafting in the Doron de Bozelle and the Isère ? For parentheses dedicated to relaxation, head for the relaxation and well-being area of the resort.
