In the Haute Tarentaise, in the heart of Savoie, the village of Peisey-Nancroix has retained its charm of yesteryear. Although it became a privileged winter tourism destination during the 20th century, peace and quiet still dominates this small mountain village. Its inhabitants were keen to preserve the traditions and heritage of the past. It is this authenticity that seduces holidaymakers looking for peace and quiet in the high mountains.

Since its creation in 1963, the resort of Plan Peisey has delighted winter sports lovers. Served to the village by the shuttle bus, the Peisey-Vallandry ski area is one of the most popular Savoyard sites for skiers. It is particularly renowned for its exceptional sunshine which makes the descents particularly pleasant. It also has a Nordic site for unusual sports such as ice climbing and cross-country skiing. Peisey-Vallandry is also part of the great ski area of Paradiski, born from an alliance with the Arcs and La Plagne ski areas. This huge area linked via cable cars offers more than 400 kilometres of slopes on which skiers, snowboarders and other ski lovers can test their limits.

Peisey-Nancroix is also a village of history and customs. It has a museum dedicated to various aspects of its past. Three permanent exhibitions are proposed: the first is centred on the school of the past, the second on traditional costumes and the last on the history of the valley. Through reconstructions, visitors are immersed in the Peisey of yesteryear. We continue his journey back in time on the sites of the old mine. The Monts d'Argent, as the town was nicknamed during the 18th and 19th centuries thanks to the exploitation of silver mines. Until 1886, they made the wealth of the village which saw its number of inhabitants increase tenfold. At the beginning of the 19th century, the site was even inhabited by the Ecole Française des Mines. Today, one can follow a museographic path punctuated with explanatory panels on the various vestiges of the site to discover its history. In summer, guided tours of the old facilities are organised. For the little ones, animations allow them to transform themselves into geologist apprentices for a morning and to discover all the secrets of the rock.

Art lovers can also visit the La Fruitière exhibition hall to admire temporary exhibitions by local artists. Located in an old cheese dairy, the place presents many works, from painting to sculpture, which will charm connoisseurs.
