Saint-François-Longchamp, a small and charming resort in the Maurienne, perfectly combines authenticity, dynamism and nature in a magnificent setting facing the massifs of Belledonne and Mont Blanc.
Perched between 1450 and 2550 metres above sea level on the road to the Col de la Madeleine in Savoie, only 1h30 from Grenoble and 2h from Lyon and Geneva, Saint-François-Longchamp dominates the Lauzière massif. A true haven of peace adored by families, this resort welcomes many holidaymakers every year, attracted by the many activities offered in its heart as well as by its magnificent mountain environment, its beautiful chalets and its multiple infrastructures. In terms of sporting activities, in winter, the resort is a delight for both novice skiers and experts in the field. Linked to Valmorel to form "Le Grand Domaine", Saint-François-Longchamp offers its visitors more than 165 kilometres of pistes (including 70 in the commune), 90 downhill ski runs, 50 ski lifts, 315 snow cannons, 4 play areas, a snowpark, a boardercross, 60 kilometres of cross-country ski runs on the Col du Chaussy and more than 20,000 hectares of cross-country skiing. Young and old can also toboggan, snakegliss, and dog sledding. With snowshoes, the "Chemin des Hameaux", a groomed course of nearly 3 kilometres, is ideal for families, just like the "Sentier des Paquiers" and the "Chemin 1450". Fun and perfect for children, it will allow them to familiarize themselves with the mountain through games of skill. The "Parcours du Loup", the "Chal" and the "Fontaine Froide" are recommended for more experienced walkers. Labelled "Famille Plus", the resort of Saint-François-Longchamp offers various services dedicated to families such as animations for the youngest, ski itineraries, daycare centres and infrastructures for children, such as the "children's house", the play area and the "little mountain" area.
If winter is conducive to sliding activities, on sunny days, the resort becomes a huge open-air playground for walkers, paragliding, summer sledging and hiking enthusiasts. Renowned for its breathtaking panoramas, the resort of Saint-François-Longchamp will allow hiking enthusiasts to discover exceptional views of Mont-Blanc, the Aiguilles d'Arves, the blue lake and the white lake, as well as the Etendard glacier in particular. In the summer, the green slopes of the resort are a paradise for cyclists and mountain bikers who will be able to descend the winding slopes of the Col de la Madeleine (famous thanks to the Tour de France) and the valleys of Saint-François-Longchamp while enjoying a landscape where marmots, ibexes, chamois and colourful flowers cohabit in harmony. You can also do aerjump, canyoning in the heart of the Maurienne valley, summer tobogganing, Big Air Bag, via ferrata, climbing or even paragliding for the more adventurous.
