The last resort of Maurienne to see the day, Valmeinier is a Savoyard commune known for its exceptional ski area. Its hamlets have preserved a certain authenticity that distinguishes it from the great resorts. Valmeinier 1500 is the chief town of the commune, it is the centre of the village which gathers a large part of the activities and trade. With a traditional charm that enchants holidaymakers, its family atmosphere is ideal for skiers looking for peace and quiet.

The Galibier-Thabor ski area combines the resorts of Valloire and Valmeinier to create a real paradise for skiers. It takes its name from two peaks over 3000 meters high, located on its territory. The two resorts alone have 150 kilometres of tracks, including slalom areas and three international competition tracks. In the evening, do not hesitate to try night skiing to experience extraordinary sensations and discover the slopes from a new angle. Toddlers, for their part, will take their first steps on the three snow gardens specially designed for them.

Snow sports enthusiasts will also be delighted to discover the various play areas located in Valmeinier. The Lac de la Vieille snowpark is open to all disciplines and allows regulars to test their mastery in two parks, one at expert level and another at medium level. There's also a perfect time zone for a challenge with friends !

Nice walks around the residence but you have to be at least athletic because there are often 2 to 3 hours of walking with 200m difference in altitude. Don't be afraid of heights on most of the walks. Go and see the marmots behind the chairlifts!
