At the gateway to the Vanoise National Park, 8 kilometres from Modane, Valfréjus welcomes you to a resort on a human scale that has kept all its authenticity. In all seasons, it invites you to enjoy its fabulous environment by practicing multiple activities.
A winter sports resort renowned for the quality of its infrastructure, Valfréjus has a domain that satisfies the desires of all skiers, beginners or advanced. With its 24 slopes of different levels, its Bob Park with 2 toboggan runs and its boardercross, the resort offers various ways to enjoy the joys of snow. You can also take the time to discover nature by taking snowshoe rides in the Vanoise park or by practicing speed riding. Children can learn to ski in safe areas, have fun in Kid Park and slide on the 450 m² ice rink located in the heart of the resort.
In summer, Valfréjus offers a new face and invites you to enjoy its exceptional natural environment in a different way. In the heart of the larch and spruce forest, take the hiking trails that will allow you to discover the Tabor massif, the Vanoise park, the lakes and glaciers and to follow in the footsteps of marmots and large predators. On mountain bikes, get your adrenaline pumping in the Bike Park and on the routes specially designed for enduro or cross-country (La Déjantée, la Diabiolique...). But have fun too on the via ferrata route, in the acro-ludic park and along the Charmaix Tyrolean traverse.
During your stay in Valfréjus, discover the region's fabulous heritage. In an impressive site, against the rock face of a narrow gorge, visit the Notre-Dame de Charmaix Chapel. Built in the 15th century, it houses a mysterious black virgin to whom legend has attributed many miracles. Also take a trip to Modane to admire the granite fountain, listed as a historic monument, the leaning house, the fort du Replaton, and extend your walk to Aussois to see the superb Esseillon barrier. Also remember to discover all the richness of local gastronomy: fondue, tartiflette, raclette, crozets gratin, blueberry tart, Savoy wines....
