The small village of Bargemon is 18 kilometres north-east of Draguignan. Nicknamed the "Pearl of the Haut-Var", this charming village is nestled at an altitude of 500 metres in the hollow of wooded hills, dotted with olive trees and dense vegetation. Marked by the features of Provence, Bargemon is particularly pleasant to visit. Impossible not to succumb to its crazy cachet, which is revealed through its shady alleys and its wooded plots, where large terraces perfect for dining or having a coffee. It is also impossible to miss the large 18th century fountain on Place Chauvier, or the beautiful 15th century church which attracts visitors. Take the time to stroll through the narrow streets of the village where the elegant old buildings that make up the charm of Bargemon are accumulated. Here, artists' studios, art galleries and lithography workshops have flourished over the years, making Bargemon a lively, rich and artistic city, where visitors enjoy strolling to the sound of cicadas singing. There are still many fountains to be discovered as you stroll through the village, so as you stroll along you will certainly discover the well-preserved remains of the medieval walls that once protected the heart of Bargemon. Dating from the 12th and 16th centuries, these high ramparts pierced by wide gates also offer incredible views of the abundant nature that surrounds the village, as well as of the neighbouring medieval village of Claviers, which is also worth a visit for its ancient architecture. The castle of Reclos, the prison of 1582, the church of Notre-Dame-de-Montaigu or the magnificent Honoré Camos gallery are finally added to the list of places and monuments not to be missed when visiting Bargemon.

In terms of activities, in addition to discovering the many art exhibitions that the town hosts throughout the year, you can why not introduce yourself to the local crafts by taking pottery or painting lessons, but also attend lectures on various artistic themes, or if you are one of those who love outdoor activities, opt for a game of badminton or a dip in the municipal swimming pool. A game of tennis or boules later, you will be totally immersed in the local traditions! But the activities don't stop there. In a huge circus, particularly suitable for hiking, the village is only a few kilometres from the Gorges du Verdon, and the lakes of Sainte-Croix and Saint-Cassien. Also, you will find many tourist routes suitable for both pedestrians and mountain bikers in the direction of Blaque Meyanne, Col du Bel Homme, Tourettes, Fréjus (and its beaches, only 38 kilometres away) or Draguignan... So many signposted paths that will allow you to discover all the magnificence of this pretty corner of Provence and the Haut-Var. Hang gliding, paragliding and other sensational activities will finally complete your stay in Bargemon!
