Perched on its hillock 7 kilometres from Draguignan, Figanières is one of those little corners of paradise that we love so much. Less than 40 kilometers from the beaches of Fréjus, this village of Dracénie Provençale has everything, oh yes everything to please those who dream of a holiday in the heart of nature.

Ah, Figanières... It is that it turns many heads, this small town of Var! About thirty kilometres from the Verdon gorges and an hour from Nice airport, this perched village nestled in the heart of green valleys impresses with its authentic character and its preserved heritage. When you enter the village, you will notice its soul. It is impossible to miss the imposing church of Saint-Michel, easily identifiable thanks to its square bell tower, reputed to contain the reliquary bust of Saint-Pons attributed to Puget. Here, like the villages of Provence, the religious heritage is striking, both discreet and remarkable. The Notre-Dame des Oliviers votive chapel, the ruined Romanesque chapels of Saint-Clément and Saint-Blaise, as well as the Saint-Pons Lavoir chapel and the 11th century Andrieu chapel complete the inventory of religious sites to see in Figanières. But the visit of the village does not stop there, it is teeming with splendid sites is studded with a myriad of marked trails accessible on foot, horseback or bike, which will allow you to stroll according to your desires. From elegant residences to fountains, you will discover the spring, the menhir of Saint-Val on the road to Draguignan, the Fontvieille wash house, the dolmen of the Cabre d'Or, but also the Roman way, the Roman bridge, many wine cellars, and finally the ruins of the castle. The gardens of the castle, which once belonged to the Count of Ventimiglia, have been laid out to allow visitors to enjoy a bucolic stroll among the centuries-old stones of the building. Called the Garden of Scents, it highlights Provençal and Mediterranean flowers and plants, offering visitors a true visual and olfactory tour. And how can you fail to fall under the spell of its little green arbour at the entrance to the park, the round square where concerts are played in summer, and its terrace overlooking the village and offering incomparable views? All this with the backdrop of the superb rose garden, the wall of the village church and the ruins of an old keep. A perfect postcard!

Finally, while in Figanières, it is impossible not to discover the beauty of the neighbouring Provencal villages. Callas at 6 kilometers, Châteaudouble, Montferrat, Bargemon, but also Draguignan of course, the lake of Saint-Cassien at about forty minutes or the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea will complete your visit in the Var region.
