A small medieval village nestled on the waterfront, Bauduen is one of the most secret treasures of Provence. Along the shores of the Sainte-Croix lake, this beautifully preserved site is a perfect vacation spot for nature, culture and Provence lovers.

In the heart of the Verdon Natural Park, Bauduen is one of those jewels that you wish you could keep just for yourself. Along the clear waters of the lake of Sainte-Croix, this quiet medieval village never ceases to charm the souls passing through its walls. Take the time to stroll along its narrow, shady streets. Here, the old stone houses with arcades are legion; they rub shoulders in a colourful jumble with the warm tones of the houses, from orange to ochre or pink. The old facades with their elaborate balconies and flowered windows are an endless invitation to play. On your way, wash houses, mullioned windows (in the rue Longue), old doors, fountains and ramparts will follow one another, current vestiges of the Renaissance which will have left its mark forever on the village of Bauduen. Visit the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul, the oil mill, the Saracen Tower and the ruins of the medieval castle, to learn all about the wealth of the town's architectural heritage. Discover its beautiful 19th century sundial, and climb, climb, all the way up to the top of the village to contemplate wonderful panoramas of the lake below. If during the day the landscapes are breathtaking, we advise you to come there in the evening as well in order to admire the sunset... Memories guaranteed! Please note that to discover Bauduen, you will need good sneakers or hiking boots. Here, it is one of the favourite activities of the holidaymakers! Just like Provence and the Verdon, Bauduen is dotted with a myriad of marked trails through its mountains, suitable for Sunday walkers as well as seasoned sportsmen and women, which will allow you to discover the Mocrouis and the Cuguyons mountain range.

Bauduen's main attraction is its lake, as you will have understood. With its small beaches and its peaceful port, we are far from the big seaside infrastructures which mix hundreds and hundreds of people a day. Here, we bet on calm, simplicity and authenticity. And that's why we love Bauduen! So you can swim in the fresh waters of the lake, opt for a paddle, pedal boat, windsurfing, paragliding, rafting, canyoning, fishing, or even kayaking around the lake, to discover some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Verdon from this emerald-coloured lake.

Finally with the family, don't miss climbing up to the Astronomical Observatory to contemplate the stars and the universe from huge telescopes, or take a trip to the Toy Art Museum, totally dedicated to the Playmobil universe.
