Clinging to the Durance River which separates it from the department of Bouches-du-Rhône, the small village of Cadenet takes its place in the department of Vaucluse. A cultural and exotic town, it is the ideal place to set your sights on for sports and contemplative holidays in harmony with nature.

In the heart of authentic Provence, Cadenet is located 50 kilometres from Avignon. A former basket-making Mecca in Provence (as its museum attests), this small village perched in the Luberon nestling between Lourmarin and Pertuis impresses as much as it fascinates. In no time at all, Cadenet's absolutely magnificent panoramas of the Sainte-Victoire, the Alpilles, the Luberon and the Durance are a real eye-catcher when you disembark at Cadenet. To discover all the splendour of the village and its views of Provence, head towards the Place du Tambour d'Arcole from where a myriad of narrow streets start. The rue Louis Blanc and its descending steps will lead you to the fountain known as "aux pois chiches" (chickpea fountain), close to which is one of the old defence towers that once protected the village. Go through the Avenue Gambetta to discover the former house of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (41-43), before finally discovering the Rue Félicien David which will lead you straight to the ancient ramparts that once surrounded the town, and which still offer incredible views of the Durance. The Place Carnot and its wicker fountain, the beautiful knocker door of the Rue Victor Hugo, the Place de l'Horloge and its high belfry of 1878, the former Portail Sainte-Anne, the Rue Kleber and the Place Mirabeau are also worth a look. Then follow the northern ramparts along rue Denfert Rochereau, to finally climb the very pretty rue Marceau which, in addition to its old wash house, offers a superb view of the entrance to an old convent built in the 17th century. You will finally arrive at the foot of the Château de Cadenet, the most beautiful building in the village and certainly the most popular. Along the Raspail street and the safre cliff known for its very old troglodyte dwellings, this splendid feudal castle is worth the visit as much for the beauty of its buildings as for the landscapes that it offers to its lucky visitors to contemplate the abundant nature of Provence, the Alpilles and the whole Luberon. Cultural space, place of exhibitions and performances, it is particularly appreciated in the summer period for its musical evenings and its animations at sunset. From wash houses to fountains and mills, from castles to ramparts, without forgetting the Saint-Etienne church and its white marble sarcophagus and the Notre-Dame des Anges chapel, all the unique beauty of this beautiful corner of Provence will be displayed before your eyes!

When summer comes, the commune's lake will be ideal for a refreshing interlude, well deserved during the hot Mediterranean summers. Housed in a green setting, with its beach and gently sloping swimming area, it will be perfect for bubbling in the sun, swimming, and taking advantage of floating facilities for the little ones. Finally, there are many walking and mountain bike routes that you will find in the area. In the direction of the Abbey of Silvacane or the wonderful Château de Lourmarin, through valleys planted with olive trees or lavender, through the Durance valley, the Monts de Vaucluse, towards the Dentelles de Montmirail or the Petit Luberon, you can't help but fall under the spell of this pretty corner of Provence.
