In the heart of Savoie, the village of Les Avanchers-Valmorel is one of those pearls that tirelessly attract visitors in search of authenticity and ski holidays. For a sporty, rejuvenating and relaxing break in the heart of the mountains, this is the ideal destination, so pack your bags!

Ah, Avanchers-Valmorel... In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, this vast territory of almost 22 square kilometres is spread out between 680 and 2600 metres in altitude. On the Avanchers side, there are 13 villages separated by the Morel torrent, such as Meiller, La Grande, La Charmette, le Crey among others, and the resort of Valmorel perched at 1400 meters. Dominated by the peaks that are the Crève Tête (2342 meters), the Niélard (2559 meters) and the Cheval Noir (2832 meters), Les Avanchers-Valmorel is a rural township dotted with many chapels, which are the chapel of Saint-Aubin (1557), the chapels of Saint-Roch (1558), St. Lawrence, St. Barbara and St. Grat to name a few. But if the town attracts so many visitors, it is above all for the sumptuousness of its natural heritage! Nestled at the gateway to the Col de la Madeleine and the Chaîne de la Lauzière, at the foot of the Cheval Noir and the Nielard, Les Avanchers- Valmorel is adored by hikers and nature lovers who will find a myriad of marked itineraries perfect for outdoor sports.

But if there is one activity that is king here, it is skiing! The ski resort of Valmorel is impressive: with slopes spread out at an altitude of 2,550 metres, it has more than 94 kilometres of downhill ski runs for all levels of ability and all tastes, as well as 20 kilometres of cross-country ski runs. The first resort at the entrance to the Tarentaise, this resort with the Family Plus label is a real paradise for young and old. Attached to the Grand Domaine alpine domain, it offers a total of more than 165 kilometres of runs, with 24 green runs, 46 blue runs, 18 red runs and 8 black runs. In addition to skiing, you can practice a whole range of board sports thanks to 3 snowparks, 2 snowcrosses, 2 boardercrosses, but also opt for Nordic skiing on more than 50 kilometres of groomed itineraries on plateaux, valleys and snowy slopes. Hiking, paragliding, gyropode rides, snowshoeing sessions and other sensational activities will make your stay in the Savoyard mountains unforgettable!
