In the province of Las Palmas, on one of the most beautiful islands in the Canary Islands, Agaete has all the cards in hand to seduce you. Cultural, exotic and spared from the ravages of mass tourism in the Canary Islands, Agaete is like a small typical village that cannot be resisted. Hanging on its cliff overlooking the Port of Nieves, Agaete offers visitors incomparable views of the open sea from its historic centre, magical at sunrise and sunset. Take the time to stroll along its narrow streets dotted with palm trees and Canary Islands residences, all painted white: the homogeneous architecture of the village gives it a crazy character! In the heart of the city centre, the Iglesia de la Conception (1874) does not go unnoticed: with its bright red high dome, it is visible from almost everywhere in the city. You will undoubtedly love its large square, entirely pedestrian, where onlookers and locals love to relax at any time of the day. Lose yourself in the intertwined alleys of Agaete, take a stroll through the Rama Museum (a local folk festival), and take the time to stroll through its superb botanical garden, the Huerto de las Flores, which attracts the eye thanks to the splendour of its tropical plants, a fresh paradise during hot (sometimes even very hot) summer days.

If Agaete does not have any shops or restaurants (with the exception of two small cafés in the city centre), the town nevertheless has a large number of craftsmen's workshops and absolutely magnificent galleries, which have for years hosted artists from all over the island. Do you like hiking trips? Tamdaba Natural Park is not to be missed: located on the highest point of the village, at an altitude of 1180 metres, this protected area is a privileged place for hiking in the heart of pristine landscapes and high Canary pine forests. The Agaete Valley as a whole is a real paradise for walkers, who can enjoy breathtaking views of the Tamdaba massif, the hills dotted with orchards of tropical fruit trees and the ocean.

The charm of Agaete? The ocean! Walking along the seaside, you will discover some of the most extraordinary natural pools in northern Gran Canaria. Las Nieves beach is certainly one of the most beautiful in the seaside resort: with its clear waters and small stones, it is one of the most popular in Agaete. Las Salinas, Guayedra, Juncal Beach, Risco Beach, Crique and Quai beaches or Sotavento Beach are all peaceful oases lulled by the gentle lapping of the waves, which will allow you to let go in a dream setting. In addition to swimming, idleness and sand castles, thrill-seekers can discover the beauty of Agaete's seabed during introductory scuba diving, opt for a sea trip or a coastal discovery on a sea kayak.
