Montigné-lès-Rairies is a small village of less than 500 inhabitants. It is one of those quiet places that one does not necessarily think of for a family or romantic holiday. And you're wrong! Because this charming destination is the ideal place to put down your bags away from the crowds, just a few steps from the Loire castles.

About thirty minutes north of Angers, Montigné-lès-Rairies is located in the Maine-et-Loire department, in the Pays-de-la-Loire region. Angevine municipality located in the heart of the natural region of Baugeois, Montigné-lès-Rairies is one of those quiet places where life is good. Here, no big crowded shopping streets, no big tourist sites... and that's why we like it so much ! Here, you will discover beautiful old houses with high gables and stone crosses which give a crazy charm to the village. As for the buildings, take the time to stroll around the Place du Pilori to discover some of the oldest houses, such as the Vieux Logis or the Chouannerie, which give the village a considerable charm. On the same square, the Château de La Fontaine is a must-see: dating from the 15th and 18th centuries, this beautiful mansion is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful buildings in the whole commune, hosting exhibitions, concerts and various cultural events throughout the year. Discover the Saint-Pierre church, the chimney washhouse on the Marcé road, the remains of the fortified work of Boigné or the Château de Mené, which was once a sort of small manor house with turrets and moats built in the 16th century before being destroyed to build an imposing two-storey castle in its place. Coming on holiday to Montigné is therefore to offer a quiet interlude, as a family or as a lover, to discover the heritage of the region. Montigné-lès-Rairies is a small rural village at the gateway to the Chambiers forest, and also offers its visitors a vast open-air playground for activities such as hiking and mountain biking through its sunny hillsides.

Finally, because of its location, Montigné-lès-Rairies is ideally situated to allow you to discover some of the most beautiful castles of the Loire. The Château de Bazouges to the north, those of Brignac and Plessis-Bourré nearby, or the Château de Baugé, the elegant Château de Montgeoffroy, the Château d'Angers, the Château de Brissac, the Château de Brézé or the Château de Saumur about fifty kilometres away and the incredible Royal Fortress of Chinon, only an hour's drive from Montigné-lès-Rairies, will give a little taste of enchantment to your stay in the Angevine.
